EAU CLAIRE CITY-COUNTY TOURNAMENT - AUGUST 25, 2009

Eau Claire's final tournament of the year attracted 24 entries pitching in four 6-person classes. The format was 50-shoe games with a 1-point handicap.

John Dolezel (Cannon Fodder) fired back, claiming 1st place at 4-1, 48%, edging out Dean Chaffee 4-1, 42%. Gert Wilcziek took 3rd at 3-2, 67%.

Dennis Kieser dominated Class B, pitching 48% and going 5-0 to claim 1st place. Ron Wiese claimed 2nd place at 3-2, 32% over 3rd place winner Layne Olson 3-2, 30%.

In Class C, Jim Ganther at age ? moved up to 30 feet (for the first time) to post a 5-0 record & 33% average for a 1st place finish. Jim intends to throw from 30 feet in next year's World Tournament. Steve Wallin, 3-2 & 29% took 2nd place over 3rd place winner Tom Matalas, 3-2, 24%.

Mark Gagnon, recovering from shoulder surgery, went 5-0, 14% to take 1st in Class D. Rod Ganther claimed 2nd at 3-2 & 16%, followed by junior pitcher Kayla Dolezel (Cannon Fodder, Jr.) 2-1/2/2-1/2 & 14%.

For those of us going to the State Tournament, this was a final tune-up!
