Results of the Eau Claire City-County Tournament - 8-16-2011 - 7:00 p.m.

Due to the late 7:00 p.m. starting time the four 6-person classes pitched 40-shoe games. This proved to be a critical decision when a light rain began with about 20 shoes left to be pitched in the final game. Heavy rains immediately followed completion of the tournament.

Class A provided the most fireworks when JIM GANTHER, riding a 1-point handicap, pitched 30 points over his average (his first-ever 75% game)
to defeat GERT WILCZIEK to claim first place. JIM finished 4-1/2 - 1/2 followed by GERT at 4-1.

JIM (Sand Shoe) HEIM threw a class best 39% to win Class B, at 4-1. The Venerable ROB REHM was a close second at 3-1/2 - 1-1/2, & 36%.

JEFF KUNZ & STEVE WALLIN, both 4-1, finished first & second respectively in Class C. JEFF threw 30% & STEVE 25%. It was good to see JANE SMITH pitch in this class. Welcome back to pitching, JANE!!

Close-Doesn't-Count member TONI SLOPER (37%) went undefeated to dominate Class D by beating new Eau Claire Club member CECIL REITER (27.5%) in the final game.
