Results of the Eau Claire City-County Tournament - 8-17-2010 - 7:00 p.m.

Eau Claire's final tournament of the season drew good participation with
24 entries pitching in four 6-person classes. Forty-shoe games were
pitched with a one-point handicap.

In Class A, The Eau Claire Club welcomed back DEB (Bestul) HALVORSON,
former Junior Champ, who has not pitched recently. Using the handicap,
Deb beat GERT WILCZIEK in their final game resulting in both finishing
with 4-1 records. Gert was awarded 1st place at 79% with Deb taking 2nd
at 57%. LONNY TRANGSRUD took 3rd with 3-2, & 49.5%.

Class B was well-balanced with JOHN BROPHY rolling into town from
Galesville to claim 1st at 3-1/2 - 1-1/2, 39% followed by Club members
LAYNE OLSON, 3-2 & STUB HAZEN 2-1/2 - 2-1/2, taking 2nd & 3rd places
respectively.

JIM "Hot Shot" EMERY easily won Class C, going 5-0, 31%. The "Venerable"
ROB REHM, 3-2, 30% edged out WARREN PUHL, 3-2, 24% for 2nd place, with
Puhl coming in 3rd.

Nine-year-old Cadet ALEX TYZNIK (Dennis Kieser's grandson) appears to
be a rising star in the Horseshoe World, winning Class D while going 5-0
with an 18% ringer %. FRANK ESPINOZA - 4-1, 15% claimed 2nd, followed by
JERRY KOOIKER - 3-2, 5.5% in 3rd place.
